The Gravity Force Absorber System (GFA-SY) is a next-generation energy management device developed for Military Tandem Tethered Bundle (MTTB) operations. Originally designed to meet the high-force thresholds of USSOCOM missions, this modular, compact solution reduces peak fall forces during parachute deployment, especially during tether snatch and opening shock phases, where loads can spike up to 10 Gs.
In tests, the GFA-SY demonstrated force reduction of up to 40% or more when paired with the GFA-SYA+ Absorber Plus configuration.
